Catch tuesday once again!!!
So surprisingly I am somewhat unhappy with tonight's episode. First off, it seems like they showed the new boats, the wizard and the CM most tonight. Not that i don't like them, because I love the CM I mean come on that's Phil's boat. But seriously how can you not show the Time Bandit and Northwestern more than the others. The Northwestern has been on Catch since the very beginning, and I think it maybe got 30 seconds of air time tonight. In my mind that's not ok, and I mean this not because its my favorite boat or just because I think Edgar is hot. I generally believe that its bullshit not to show them at least an equal amount. I'm sorry but in my opinion, the new boats should take a back seat to the others. Wild Bill certainly did last season, and he wasn't even new to the fleet he was just new to DC. So I don't understand what the hell is up with that. but hopefully it doesn't continue. and second and last...Jake Harris got to run the boat for a bit, which for me was really really awesome to see. He seemed to do a decent job for being new to it and was even complimented on his skill by his Captain Derek Ray. Later on in the show he asked to drive the boat again and Derek turns him down. after Jake leaves the wheelhouse(looking somewhat discouraged) Derek admits to smelling pot on Jake and vows to never let him drive the boat again. So my thoughts earlier of thinking that Jake was on a good path and actually looked like he could run the boat dropped to the floor the moment that was said. I really want to see him do well in life and get past his demons. and a part of me even wants to believe that maybe Derek was lying, but given Jake's past i cant help but believe him. Derek seems like a decent guy. I remember being skeptical about him, but that was because he was taking Phil's place, and in my mind no one should take Phil's place because it's just Phil's place. but I watched him sit down and tell Sig that Phil had died last season. and that's no easy thing to do. and I believe he genuinely wants to see both Jake and Josh do well. I am hoping that Jake can recover from this little slip and hopefully get back in Derek's good graces. Not only for his sake, but for Phil's as well.

It's CATCH tuesday!!
Well what can I say...the one new captain, Elliot Neese, is already on my bad side...though I can't pinpoint a reason why. Just something about him I guess. Still not sure how I feel about the other new captain on the Seabrooke. Knew I would see Keiths drama king temper make another appearance, lol. Wonder if he realizes he looks like a control freak on tv. I am hoping the Cornelia crew can unite together and back their new captain. Of course I can see how it would be hard since they are used to that position being filled by Phil. It was pretty cool to see Jake in the captains chair on the Northwestern, and doubly cool to see Edgar flick him some extra shit. I know Jake is a little sensitive but I love seeing Edgar happy...it means he's sticking around longer, in my opinion. I think Jake needs to toughen up.
I am really liking the music or score they are playing this season as well. for my music can really make or break a show. Hopefully they plan on releasing it on itunes so i can buy it. All in all a pretty good show. As always i am looking forward to next week!!

How I plan to spend the end of the Harry Potter movies...

Harry Potter began for me after my sister and my best friend told me I needed to read the books. I opted to see the movie first and until seeing Prisoner of Azkaban I was fairly sure that Harry Potter was for children. I don't know exactly what it was about it, but I just felt it was childish. That was until I met the dementors, Remus Lupin and Sirius Black. After I saw that movie I feverishly read the books, and a hardcore Potter fan was born. I saw the rest of the movies at midnight premieres, waited in line until midnight for Half Blood Prince and held an all night reading party for the release of Deathly Hallows. I even made a list of predictions of how i thought the series would end, and who would live and die. Little did I know that these books and movies that I once felt were so childish, would help me grieve the passing of my twin sister in 2006. Harry Potter has given me a magical place to escape to when I need it. It has given me a new found love of books. It has also brought me many friends from around the world. There aren't a lot of books that can do all those things. It's hard to believe that 7 years later we are coming to an end. An end to era. Deathly Hallows part 2 is to be released in theaters July 15th at 12:01 am. While I cannot go to Florida to meet and hang out with the fellow fans and friends HP has brought me I will be spending it with one of the people who introduced me to it in 2004. My dear friend Crystal is stationed in Hawaii serving in the army. It is only fitting that I spend the end of Harry Potter with her since she was one of the ones who made it possible. But who is to say its the end? Hopefully the books will be passed down to other friends and family members and the story will live on. And I hope most of all that the special bond that has been made between us all will live on.......until the very end.

Hearing loss, TIMBERS WIN and DH is out in less than 2 hrs....SAY WHAT?
Second, Deathly Hallows pt. 1 is out on DVD/Blu Ray in less than 2 hours and I'm not at the store waiting...seriously WTF is wrong with me?? UGH :/ chock it up to another reason I need my damn license! But I will get DH pt 1 tomorrow, so it will still count, right? :P
And finally third....I watched the show called The Doctors today. They discussed hearing loss due to loud music, mostly from rock concerts but also the increase in hearing loss since iPods came about. I admittedly LOVE to listen to my music loud. But I didn't know how loud my music actually was until i did some research. Thanks to seeing the show I found out that my earbuds produce 102dB's. and over a prolonged period of time it can cause gradual hearing damage. And i will also admit that every now and then after listening to my maxed volume music for a few hours I do experience some ringing in my ears for awhile afterwards. I found out that the point in which hearing damage becomes an issue is at 85 dB's. And furthermore, the headphones I use on my computer produce 103 dB's which for just 1 MINUTE can cause permanent hearing loss! After researching all this I set a volume limit on my iPod. Researchers said that you just have to crank it down to 80% to save your hearing. While yes I like it loud, I like to feel as well as hear the music, I want to be able to listen to music for a very very long time. I've realized that if I don't turn it down I put myself at risk to lose my hearing all together. and that is something I do not want to ever experience. Instead of playing it loud, its time to play it just loud enough.

Deadliest Catch is BACK!

Got to see most of the season 7 premiere of DC last night. Though I must admit I missed about 15 minutes of it because I fell alseep. I caught the encore showing which started at 11pm and ran till 1am. I was out late last night, but I just had to watch my most favorite show. I was glad I did and I plan on watching it all the way through(minus falling asleep this time)again very soon. I liked the beginning with all the boats floating next to one another as they launched Phils ashes(in a crab pot) into the Bering sea. It was very dramatic, this is true. But I liked it. They made it seem at first like Edgar had indeed left the Northwestern, but this wasn't so, he just came on deck after everyone else. But for a moment I was quite upset. From what I can tell its going to be an interesting season for the guys aboard the Northwestern as it seems Jake forgets to check his feelings at the door. Which lets be honest isnt uncommon for him. I was glad to see both Harris boys aboard the Cornelia Marie, and doubly glad to see that Jake Harris passed a drug test. I hope he continues on the straight and narrow. Also glad to see the Time Bandit boys back as well. It still hasnt sunken in that I met Johnathan, Andy and Sig last July. I realized that about half way through watching last night...."I met those guys" I thought to myself. Still doesnt seem real. But also makes me wish that I would've made more of an effort to meet Phil when he was in town. Theres 2 new ships in the fleet this year. Not sure how I feel about them yet, its just too early to tell I think. I am wondering if they Captains ditched their preseason tradition of doing a burn barrel as it was not shown. Of course with Phils passing, maybe it just doesnt seem right. but who knows. I am certainly looking forward to a long season of Deadliest Catch, and hope they plan to film After The Catch as well. Man I love this show!!

Potty time with Logan
Logan turned 4 last December and very soon after, the pressure to get him potty trained quickly kicked in. while he is quite stubborn last month I got him to sit on the potty a few times a day with the promise of stickers and a toy at the end if the week. After almost 3 weeks of sitting on the potty but with no production he finally went "pee-pees." 2 days later he was running a fever and had a major ear infection....potty training went out the window. A few weeks ago I had to argue with him to get him to even sit down again. I would sit in the bathroom and read him books, sing songs, anything to keep him on the potty but he wasn't peeing at all. Last monday he finally went pee again. Tuesday he decided to wear underwear during the day(except naps and nighttime). He had no problem going pee on the potty..but no poopys. Today he decided he wanted to wear underwear to nap. He woke up dry, no problem. So we decided to give him a reward for being a big boy and not having any accidents in his underwear. It was a pirate ship he has had eye on for over a year now. I told him how proud I was of him and said his next step was to go poop on the potty. An hour later he went poop on the potty. To some this maybe be nothing to celebrate, but to him and me it is a huge accomplishment. And if you are a parent I'm sure you understand. It means he gets to wear super hero underwear all the time. He gets to go to school next year. And I don't have to change diapers anymore. I don't know how many parents read my blog but all I can say is if you are potty training a child or will be soon i have 4 pieces of advice. 1. Be patient- think you already are...multiply that by 10! 2. Keep trying you have to be very persistant. 3. Be positive! Even if they have an accident its important that you are positive. You don't want anything negative to affect your potty training! You could potentially scare your child if you act in a negative manner. And finally 4. Bribery works!- use whatever you can to get them to sit on the potty. stickers, toys, books, promises and even candy(though I feel that should be a last resort) trust me, it works. Logan sat down everyday because he knew if he did he would get a toy at the end of the week. and now look at him. Logan is rocking the super hero undies! Logan you're a rockstar! <3

make up and such....
One big thing i want to try out is foundation from MAC, Laura Mercier, and Chanel. Of course they all cost quite a bit, so I don't imagine I will be able to get them any time soon, but they are top on my list for foundations to try out. Along with some MAC brushes. Brushes are a necessary item for make up.
I look back at pictures of me without make up and i feel like i look "naked" somewhat, like i'm tired or sick or something of that nature. Make up seems to make me feel better about myself. Now I dont leave the house without eyeliner and lipgloss on. it just makes me feel better, more presentable so to speak. I know guys dont understand that, but hey if it makes me feel better about myself, then it should be done. I also like the fact that make up is an artform. Thats why professionals are called make up artists. I've always liked art, so that works out really well. plus with eyeshadows and stuff you can make do so many different looks. You can express yourself through make up. Its really fun. its something i look forward too each day. I know many people who have known me for a long time may be caught off guard because I am and always have been somewhat of a "tomboy" so me being into make up is a little weird. But i feel it makes me just more unique. more me. and more unpredictable :P lol. you never know what i'm gonna do next....

Quote of the day
"Strength and growth come only through continuous effort and struggle..." - Napoleon Hill
To me this quote means that there are always going to be battles in life and you have to continue to push forward and move on. You have to keep faith. Thats the only way you learn and by learning you become stronger and better. Ready to conquer the other things life throws your way.

Looking forward to Catch
Next tuesday is the season 7 premiere of Deadliest Catch. I am very much excited to see how it begins especially since the season started just a few days after the Hillstrands and Sig settled their legal issues so the captains would return to the show. Plus this season will be the first without Captain Phil who passed away last year during Opi season. In the trailers I've seen we see Edgar and Jake of the Northwestern yelling at one another, Josh and Jake Harris aboard the Cornelia Marie fight to do their fathers name proud and the fleet gets some new blood. Gonna be an interesting season. I'm intrigued to see how things on the Northwestern play out, as thats my favorite boat...and I have a bit of a crush on Edgar..ahem. I'm very happy to see that he has returned instead if leaving the boat as he previously mentioned. I also look forward to seeing how the Harris boys do in their fathers stead. All in all, I'm sure its gonna be another good season. Shut up and fish!!

Mockingjay (may contain spoilers)
I finished reading Mockingjay this morning and to be honest have been in a somewhat depressed state since. This is not due to finishing the book knowing that there won't be another one, but because the main character lost her sister. It amazes me how sometimes things come out of the blue and make me relive the events of my sisters passing. I didn't see it coming in this book like I did with Harry Potter. With that one I knew the deaths were going to be tough because I had years to become attached to the characters. This was different, but affected me somewhat the same. I guess if I wanted to avoid feeling like this I wouldn't read books, or see movies or even listen to music, I wouldn't be able to live at all because some things just bring back memories, whether they are good or bad. For a moment I thought "why do I do this to myself?" Only to answer myself almost instantly "because this is life." And even though it hurts sometimes you have to always keep faith, and believe that the sun will shine again. xo
